DAY 3

Balu Ka Ghera to Siagoru; Crossing Hampta Pass

Today adventure is packed with thrill and excitement. The barren flatlands of the Himalayas stretch out before us, and our goal is to reach the Hampta Pass peak. Let us dive into the details:

Terrain Transition:
● The terrain has shifted from meadow-like and green to a rocky trail and barren pathways. We are leaving behind the gentler slopes of the past days.
● Lahaul and Spiti valley now unfold before us, offering a challenging and exciting change.

Uphill Trek and Steep Ridges:
● The uphill trek in this region is steep. The continuity of the terrain is occasionally broken by a lovely river passing through.
● To reach Hampta Pass, we will encounter two steep ridges, separated only by a small, leveled plateau region.

Patience and Determination:
● The final twenty to thirty minutes to the top require patience and determination. The temperature at Hampta Pass can drop significantly, especially during cooler months.
● Layer your clothes appropriately and carry a trekking stick—it is an absolute necessity.

Euphoria at the Top:
● Reaching the top of Hampta Pass is an exhilarating moment. You have conquered a relatively difficult portion of the trek.
● The adrenaline boost is worth every effort. As you stand there, the panoramic view unfolds—the expansive Spiti and Lahaul valley, scenes of rural life below, and numerous snow-capped Himalayan peaks in the distance.
● May this moment etch itself into your memory-a testament to your determination and the grandeur of the mountains. 🏔❄

DAY 4

Siagoru to Chhatru; Drive to Chandratal Lake

Downward Trek through Hampta Valley:
● After breakfast, we start early for a fairly simple downward trek, passing through the Hampta valley.
● The most prominent point of interest is the view of the ever-present Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas.

Chhatru: A Refreshing Treasure in Green:
● After surmounting Spiti as a whole, we find ourselves in Chhatru, a desolate, barren region at an altitude of 11,100 feet.
● Chhatru is sparsely populated and serves as the culmination of three imperative adventure points in Himachal—Hampta Pass, Spiti, and Rohtang Pass.
● This place gives your senses a break from the continuous barrenness of the terrain before this. Chhatru proves to be quite a refreshing treasure in green.

Drive to Chandratal Lake:
● From Chhatru, we drive about 30 kilometers to reach the much-awaited Chandratal Lake.
● Chandratal, affectionately named because of its elegant crescent moon shape, is a scenic gem in the state of Himachal.
● The lake itself is a vision in lucid blue, its water lilting and soft to the wanderer eye.
● May this night by Chandratal Lake be filled with wonder and the stars above whisper tales of the mighty Himalayas. 🏔🌌

DAY 5

Drive from Chandratal Lake to Manali (via Rohtang Pass)

Reflection and Farewell:
● After a lovely meal and some reflection upon the memorable time spent trekking to Hampta Pass, we begin our journey once again.
● The camaraderie, the landscapes, and the shared experiences linger in our hearts.

Early Morning Drive:
● We set off early this morning because the journey ahead is time-consuming. Our route takes us through the Rohtang Pass, a gateway back to Manali.
● As we drive, we traverse the various flavors of the Kullu valley, as well as the rugged beauty of the Lahaul and Spiti valley.

Homeward Bound:
● Once we reach Manali, trekkers disperse homewards according to their travel plans.
● For now, our wholesome journey together ends here—the memories etched in the mountains forever.
● May your paths continue to lead you to adventure and wonder. 🏔🚗🌄
